The Bilan Carbone ?
ECO2 Initiative is approved by ABC (Association Bilan Carbone) for achieving Bilan Carbone ® . The Bilan Carbone® method is a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions assessment tool. It can be used to account for the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of all types of organisation : industrial or tertiary companies, administrations or local authorities.

Analyze, measure and understand
In order to know how to improve and in which direction to progress, the organization being assessed must be aware of their present situation as the launching point for their strategy. Such an awareness comes from a thorough examination of its operations and procedures, which we refer to as ’Diagnostics’.
A simple and effective means of preparing for the launch of a strategy is to set up work groups based around certain specific themes. For example, one group might concentrate on the consumption of natural resources in the organization, another on communication with the participants and so on. We will co-ordinate these work groups individually for as long as necessary, as well as liaising between the different groups to ensure the quality of their results and the coherence of the overall diagnosis.
The Global Reporting Initiative or ISO26000 indexes offer a standard framework for reporting in sustainable development, allowing us to ensure that the diagnosis is as comprehensive as possible. We offer an audit based on the GRI system cataloging the activities of the organization as a whole, or a certain area of operations if preferred.
It is normally beneficial to organize a meeting between a number of key figures within the organization if they are focused on producing similar results, or if they have different tasks based around the same themes or even just because this kind of ’brainstorming’ activity can bring new ideas to the assessment. We will organize meetings during which we will act as moderators as well as making suggestions where necessary to allow these sessions to be as productive as possible.
One of the greatest areas of concern for businesses in Europe, in particular for industry, is the control and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. With its special training in this area, ECO2 Initiative can offer a full assessment of greenhouse gas emissions for an organization as a whole or for a specific site of activity.
This is achieved using one of two methods, each of which can offer different advantages : 1)The carbon assessment ’Bilan Carbone®’ developed by the ADEME 2) The GHG Protocol method as developed by the WBCSD
