Working with you

Once the inventory of current practices and their impact has been made, it is then possible to single out those activities which have a negative impact on the environment and/or the organization and establish appropriate measures in response. For example, water or energy consumption can be optimised where there is a noticeable lack of efficiency (normally associated with excess expenditure). It is important to carry out feasibility studies for each of the new measures identified, whether they stem from inefficient practices, or practices not yet established within the organization. If a measure leads to an excessive cost for the organization, it will not be encouraged. Likewise, if it means that there will be associated technical difficulties or problems, it will not be viable. We call this second phase of assessment the Selection of Areas for Action.

The co-ordination of work groups (those already set up for the phase one, or newly formed at this stage) allows us to assemble the organization’s experts in the relevant areas in order to identify the potential suggestions for improvement. By organizing face to face meetings we can obtain less comprehensive but speedier results which allow the different participants to communicate directly. ECO2 will add to these discussions with our own proposals drawing on our knowledge and experience of the different issues surrounding sustainable development.

The report on greenhouse gas emissions gives a straightforward indication of the areas which require the most immediate action. At the same time, ECO2’s expertise in the field of energy allows us to make additional valuable suggestions of the best possible lessons to be learned from the report and to single out the the most effective means of reducing emissions.

Creating a study is normally the simplest and most direct method of evaluating the usefulness of a proposed measure of reduction or improvement. We can offer feasibility studies for the technical, operational or economic sectors of your organization, whatever its scale. We have substantial experience in this domain, drawing upon our advanced technical expertise, our training in economics and our understanding of organizations to produce these studies.

In situations where our feasibility study necessitates the use of specific skills which are not available within your organization or from ourselves, we are able to source and bring in experts in sustainable development with such skills (communications, human resources, product line management, etc.) and coordinate their work as necessary.
